LAN Installer Training Program

The DINTEK Certified Installer (DCI) course curriculum, and the documentation & test-result imaging required to certify a 25-year structured cabling warranty.

Compiled from Dintek_Installer Training Program.html and DINTEK_Warranty_Program.pdf.

“Cabling system performance is not just a matter of purchasing top quality cable and connecting components. Ensure that maximum bandwidth potential is realized when the structured cabling system is correctly designed and professionally installed.”
— DINTEK Installer Training Program

DINTEK has presented its installation courses for over 12 years, training cable installers and network engineers across Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Australasia and Europe. The DCI curriculum mixes theory sessions, design exercises and practical labs, and covers termination and testing to the latest standards — regardless of the brand of components on site.

2-Day DCI Course

Copper & Fiber

Eight theory sessions, in order

Each session is followed by practical work before the class moves on.

01

Twisted-pair basics

Cabling types, where each should be used, and the governing cabling standards.

02

Structured cabling systems

SCS components and the standards that relate to them.

03

Installation practices

Latest structured cabling installation practices, so the finished cabling complies with the relevant standards.

04

Testing & troubleshooting

Testing and troubleshooting cabling systems with a view to obtaining a DINTEK 25-year warranty.

05

Fiber optic theory

What fiber is, how it’s made, and how it works.

06

Fiber cables & components

The different types of fiber cable and components, and the standards for installing each in different environments.

07

Splicing & termination

The two main connection methods — fusion splicing and mechanical termination.

08

Optical loss testing & OTDR

Optical loss testing and OTDR theory basics — taking readings and interpreting the results.

25-Year Warranty

What certification covers

The program offers a 25-year, standards-based system-performance and application-assurance warranty for all certified and registered DINTEK cable links, meeting the minimum performance requirements of the relevant ANSI/TIA or ISO Commercial Building Telecommunications Cabling Standards.

Product warranty

Certifies that all products covered will be free from defects in material and workmanship.

System performance

Certifies that cable and connecting hardware will meet or exceed the performance requirements of its rated standard, for up to 25 years.

Application assurance

Certifies that any application designed to run on the certified system will continue to run for up to 25 years.

Registering a Claim

Documentation & test-result imaging

Registration happens through the logged-in installer area of the DINTEK site, or by manual form. Whichever route is used, the submission must include:

  • Correctly completed forms— installer, customer and project details
  • Test results, direct from testers— exported, not retyped
  • As-built plans— floor layouts showing outlet locations and numbering
  • Reference information— an accurate snapshot of the completed system

Field testing is always required, using certified performance testers such as Fluke Versiv. Because the permanent-link test is what the warranty is measured against, the results are captured — imaged — directly from the tester rather than transcribed by hand.

Paper Trail

Documents & testing, in detail

Documents required

  • Warranty application form
  • Horizontal system statement
  • Backbone system statement
  • As-built drawings
  • Conformance declaration

Testing

Field testing of the installed cabling is always required, using certified performance testers like Fluke. Results are tied to the permanent link and pulled directly from the tester — not entered manually.
